Into the hole of darkness

I have fallen

Defeated and lost,

I cry

Negative thoughts

Torment me

Emotions flood me

I struggle

To climb out

I fall again

I feel hopeless

Hands grasping,

I pray for help

A hand reaches down

Into my darkness,

Pulls me up to the light

With God’s help

I find tools to cope

A renewed strength

To fight

Burns within me

In recovery I stand
